- Summer Shade, Approaching The Low Wall At The Cuinne, Sherkin Island 60x80cm I really love the intense dappled light along the lane area in the middle of Sherkin. The trees meet overhead forming a shadowy green tunnel with dazzling splashes of light that find a way through, dancing across the road in the breeze. The road is narrow enough, so that you feel quite enclosed and held in Sherkin’s heart. Soon enough the trees give way to the place where the Cuinne comes right up to the road at The Low Wall. It’s great how low it is! And at very high tides the sea floods across the road and you might have to walk across the wall very daringly to get past! Here in this painting it’s a bright summer’s day and we’re heading out towards the pier, into full sun, passing through the dappled light of the tree canopy. Framed size 68x88cm, price includes ivory frame.
